What to Expect as a Festival Participant

Each day, festival participants will 

  • have a chamber music session with nationally-recognized faculty members
  • chamber orchestra rehearsal, perfroming great works from the standard orchestral repertoire
  • opportunities for private instruction
  • time to take advantage of the many opportunities for recreation and relaxation at the Villa Maria Center
  • masterclasses on a variety of subjects including orchestral exceprts, technique, and career building for performing musicians
  • attend perfrormances of our outstanding faculty artists 
  • a non-competitive, supportive envirnoment to grow as a musician and make life-long friends 


Past Orchestra Repertoire has included:

  • Beethoven Symphonies 1, 2, 7, 8
  • Ravel - Le Tombeau de Couperin
  • Mozart - Symphony No. 40 
  • Schubert -Symphony No. 5
  • Vivaldi - Gloria


Getting to the Festival

  •   Participating musicians should plan arrive on the afternoon of Sunday, June 3, 2018 and depart on Sunday, June 17, 2018
  • If flying, participants should fly into Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT)
  • Villa Maria Center is just off of US 422 one mile east of the Pennsylvania/Ohio border.  Driving directions can be found here
